Presentation

A historical monument from the 15th century. The windmill, in its original state, is the only one in Beaujolais and Mâconnais to have retained its large wooden guivre fixed to the roof which allowed the sails to be oriented towards the wind.

Its internal wooden mechanism is still in place, notably the wheel, the brake, and the prison. Its round tower blends perfectly into the landscape; its silhouette is an undeniable feature of the Beaujolais landscape.
The "Moulin à Vent" Cru owes its name to the three-hundred-year-old windmill that stands in the heart of the vineyards (10m high - 5,5m in diameter). The sails did not withstand the storms of 1910. They were not replaced during the restoration in 1953.
