Saint-Symphorien-sur-Coise
This stage begins in Saint-Martin-en-Haut, where several geological curiosities can be observed, such as the Roche Mathiole. It passes through two towns listed among the 100 Most Beautiful Detours in France: Saint-Symphorien-sur-Coise and Saint-Galmier.
Starting from the village of Saint-Martin-en-Haut, the route follows a path on the hills above the commune. The path winds through fields and woods until you reach the outskirts of Saint-Symphorien-sur-Coise, where you enter the old town. A stop in front of the collegiate church, a listed historical monument, is highly recommended for its panoramic views of the Forez region.
You will then continue along the Coise river to reach, after Chazelles-sur-Lyon, the historic centre of Saint-Galmier and the Forez plain.
