Very easy, this walk is a good introduction to understanding how the bountiful nature of the Beaujolais region has shaped human activity. At the foot of the Roche d'Ajoux and its digital orientation table, on the Atlantic/Mediterranean watershed, the Col des Echarmeaux is a major strategic, geological, and geographical site in the Beaujolais. It is a true gateway to the Beaujolais Geopark.
At Col des Echarmeaux, you will relive the history that made it famous, with particular attention paid to the life and work of Jean Molette.
