Presentation

A pleasant 8,5km walk along marked trails will lead you to a series of 72 arches. You'll discover local heritage and learn how the Romans brought water to Lugdunum. Combine cultural curiosity with the pleasure of walking!

Starting from the town centre, you will cross the Parc du Boulard, formerly the garden of an old country house. You will then head up to the Plat de l'Air site, passing through landscapes with magnificent panoramic views.
You will discover the remains of the longest section of Roman aqueduct visible in France. Your guide will explain the history and workings of this ancient monument, its construction materials, and the restorations carried out over time. You will understand how the Romans used the siphon technique to channel water through the valleys. To conclude this walk, you will visit an inspection chamber of the aqueduct, unearthed in 2006 and preserved.
