Join our guide for a day trip along the marked trails of Chaponost and Brignais for an 18km guided hike to discover the Gier Aqueduct. You'll also enjoy the beauty and variety of the landscapes of the Vallée en Barret.
From Place Georges Clémenceau, where you will be greeted by your guide, we invite you to follow in the footsteps of the Roman Aqueduct of the Gier. The walk will take you in turn to the discovery of a wall and a series of arches at the place called Le Guichardet, in the Sensitive Natural Area of the Vallée en Barret, where you will follow the Garon to the Garon siphon bridge, then towards the outflow reservoir of this siphon, at La Gagère before taking a well-deserved break for lunch.
In the afternoon, you will head back towards the Plat de l'Air site where the longest section of the aqueduct will welcome you with its magnificent arches which carried the canal to the flushing reservoir of the Yzeron siphon before continuing its journey to Lugdunum.
Return to the starting point with a final stop at the Viollières viewpoint, which emerged from the ground in 2006 to be preserved.

Choose between a picnic lunch or a restaurant meal (allow extra time). Menus can be arranged to suit your budget. Bring appropriate hiking footwear (such as sneakers or walking shoes), weather-appropriate gear (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, etc.), and enough water for the entire hike (at least 1 liter recommended). Duration: full day (approximately 8 hours).

Prices do not include transportation or personal expenses.
If you choose the restaurant lunch option, a set menu will be offered (aperitif, starter, main course with sides, dessert, 1/4 bottle of wine, and coffee). A deposit of 30% of the total price is required to confirm your reservation.
