The Château de Champ-Renard, a castle of medieval origin and wine estate since 1765, welcomes you by appointment for a fun wine-related activity to do with some of your loved ones.

Château de Champ-Renard welcomes you to a unique setting for a wine challenge. Learn while having fun! Come share our passion and try to identify the different aroma families and flavors of wines. Put your knowledge to the test and answer our quiz. Blind taste six white and red wines and try to discover their characteristics.
For this wine challenge, you will have the privilege of enjoying the exceptional setting of the private salons at Château de Champ-Renard and settling into the wood-paneled room or the comfortable library. The wine challenge takes place in 4 stages:
Challenge #1: Aroma Workshop. You will have to discover 2 aromas from each aroma family: fruity, vegetal, floral, animal and food.
Challenge #2: Taste Workshop. You will have to find the 5 tastes of wine in selected foods: bitterness, saltiness, astringency, acidity, sweetness.
Challenge #3: Knowledge Quiz. You will have to answer 30 questions about wine within a limited time.
Challenge #4: Blind tasting (bottles concealed) of 6 wines of different character (3 whites and 3 reds). For each wine tasted, you will have to identify the wine region, the appellation, the grape variety or varieties, the aromas and flavors characteristic of the appellation, the alcohol content, the vintage, the aging potential, and the recommended food pairings. You will also have to describe the wine's appearance and color, the aromas you discover, the initial taste, the flavors on the palate, and finally, the finish.
