Presentation

Choose the type and grain of your wood, shape it and create a rollerball pen, fountain pen or ballpoint pen, according to each person's choice.

The session begins with a presentation of the workshop (machines, cutting tools, general principles of lathe work).
Next, you will discover different types of wood, their characteristics and how to work them on the lathe depending on the grain and the object you want to obtain.
Each pen created is refillable. A fountain pen can be created upon request (15 days in advance).
The first step is discovering and choosing the wood. The workshop has boxwood, ash, beech, sycamore, chestnut, walnut, oak, elder, apple, acacia, etc... If you have a specific wood in mind, please let me know 15 days in advance.

Next you move on to turning: rounding, preparing a chuck, drilling to receive the mechanism, reshaping the profile on a pen mandrel, finishing, and crimping with a pen press.
Throughout the workshop, you will receive explanations about the woodturning trade, woods, the making of different objects, the organization of the workshop, and sharpening.
