Le "Geopark" label is not insignificant. Awarded by theUNESCO in 2018, in collaboration with the Global Geoparks Networkit recognizes a territory as a exceptional geological heritageThis distinction highlights the richness and value of the geological sites of a territory, and commits to its development in a sustainable and responsible manner.

Landscapes shaped by time

Du Central massif in the Azergues Valley going through the Val de Saône Beaujolais soils have undergone spectacular transformations over the centuries, giving rise to a geology among the most complex in FranceThis is evidenced by the incredible diversity of the region's wines! A single grape variety, Gamay, but 12 distinct Appellations d'Origine Contrôlées (AOC), all due to the richness and variety of the terroirs.
