Museum Overview
An unusual and discreet piece of heritage, this former lime kiln was built in 1850 by Jean-Marie Gros, a lime burner from Lissieu. It was mainly used for the construction of two neighboring viaducts and other local works.
Guided tour: the gryphaea limestone quarry, the construction and operation of the kiln, its cistern, aqueduct, and watering trough. The use of lime, past and present.
