Museum Overview

On Saturday, November 1st, 2025, the Jeanne d'Arc hall in Chazay d'Azergues will host the premiere of Last Dance!
Set to an original soundtrack, the show explores family ties: a charity evening to benefit the Social Life Hub (MJC Confluence).

Mayerling is a contemporary dance creation inspired by the eponymous classical ballet, which recounts the torments of Empress Sissi's son. By transposing the plot into a contemporary context, this performance offers a modern reinterpretation of the work, resonating with the realities of today's youth.

Through immersive staging, a narrative enriched with voice messages, and a hybrid soundtrack blending rap and classical music, Mayerling aims to democratize access to dance and break down cultural barriers. A dozen dancers embody aimless youth, reflecting social issues that remain relevant today.

The project pursues several objectives: cultural accessibility, by adapting the ballet to contemporary codes; social impact, by addressing mental health issues; and intergenerational dialogue, by bringing together different audiences around a common artistic language.
