Discover the aqueduct with your fingertips! Uncover the secrets of the ingenious water supply system built by the Romans in the Lyon countryside 2000 years ago, on a site unique in France! Visit conducted with a tactile-visual booklet.
The Gier Aqueduct was one of four aqueducts that supplied Lugdunum (Lyon) with water. Drawing water from the Gier River at Saint-Chamond, it carried water 86 km to Fourvière. Several remains are still visible today, notably in the towns of Brignais and Chaponost. The Plat de l'Air site, where you can admire the remains of the Yzeron siphon, is a very well-preserved protected site.

Reservations are essential and must be made by the morning of the previous day. Space is limited. The meeting point will be provided upon booking. The TCL bus stop (number 12) is "Les Vergers," a 7-minute walk from the aqueduct parking lot.
