Presentation

Starting in Macon and finishing in Belleville en Beaujolais, stage 5 of the 140km Tour de France Femme passes through the roads of Beaujolais.

Leaving the Mâconnais wine region (Pouilly-Fuissé, Saint-Véran, etc.), the riders will tackle the 2,850 meters of elevation gain in a demanding Beaujolais crux. Two ascents of the Col de Gerbet will precede several climbs that traverse renowned appellations, from Saint-Amour and Fleurie to Villié-Morgon. The final stretch, starting near Chiroubles, features a two-tiered climb (1,3 km at 7,1% then 1,2 km at 9,7%), culminating in the ascent of Mont Brouilly and its 3 km at 7,7%, a decisive 10 km from the finish.
