Experience the vibrant rhythm of jazz on the legendary stage of the Ancient Theatre of Vienne!

Molly Johnson | 20:30 PM
It was the early 2000s. A stunning, powerful voice, steeped in blues and rock, burst onto the jazz scene. A voice from Toronto, flooding all the major musical events across the Atlantic and in Europe. Molly Johnson, with her mezzo-soprano range and her groove, captivated us, notably with the album Another Day, in which she offered an extraordinary version of "Summertime." Comfortable with covers of standards—especially when it comes to paying tribute to Billie Holiday—Molly Johnson also distinguishes herself through her songwriting talent. Her lyrics are socially conscious (she created the Kumbaya Festival to benefit people living with HIV), poetic, and, above all, timeless. Like her voice. There's a kind of timelessness about her that runs through all her albums. Last September, she released a three-track EP, All I See. Three songs marked by the presence of a Hammond organ and supported by choirs. Like a taste of what her next album and her performance at Jazz à Vienne might be like. When Molly Johnson suspends time, all you have to do is sit back, listen, and be moved.

Imany | 22:15 PM
With her deep voice, which confidently blends timeless soul with a powerful and luminous folk sound, the singer of "You Will Never Know" and "Don't Be So Shy" transcends genres and borders: "I am certain that there is a force much greater than us, and we are merely channels of transmission." But what is this force Imany speaks of? In her case, one imagines it to be a powerful and creative force, the one that drove her to record her first album, The Shape of a Broken Heart, which brought her to prominence in 2011. Three albums and several gold records later, the singer of Comorian roots, who grew up in southeastern France before pursuing a modeling career in New York, returns, more determined than ever. Convinced that women have a fundamental right to anger, she wrote and recorded her fourth album, Women Deserve Rage, as a manifesto of emancipation and rebirth. Born from a vital need to reclaim her life, it gives voice to an artist who chooses to be reborn free. “I had this sweet, strange dream of a truce brought by the angels where we could start all over again,” she repeats like a mantra in one of her recent songs. So, let's dream with her of this truce and take up, if not our entire lives, then at least her songs with heart.
