Museum Overview

Let yourself be carried away by the captivating rhythms of Nostos and his songs, sometimes melancholic, sometimes joyful, to the sound of the bouzouki, an emblematic instrument of Greek music.

Rebetiko is an urban style that originated in the early 20th century in the port of Piraeus near Athens. A music of rebels and exiles, it is often referred to as the Greek Blues. It is music created by musicians from the working classes, addressing themes such as marginalization, poverty, prison, death, and also love… especially when it is impossible!
