Just Friends is a piano-vocal duo formed by Mathilde Belland (vocals) and Pierre Vaumont (piano, vocals), both students at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Lyon.
Born from a musical connection and a shared passion for the jazz repertoire, the duo offers a personal reinterpretation of standards, seeking a balance between respect for tradition and freedom of interpretation. The piano-vocal format fosters spaces for exchange where improvisation takes center stage. Beyond standards, Just Friends also incorporates original compositions as well as more contemporary pieces, affirming their desire to situate this repertoire within a modern sensibility.
