Museum Overview
Take part in the Open Fast Hiking, a sporting hike. Two routes are offered: 10 km (300m D+) and 17 km (750m D+).
Fast Hiking is a new discipline from the French Hiking Federation (FFRandonnée) that falls somewhere between trail running and hiking. It's practiced at a brisk but unhurried pace, entirely self-supported, on a course with significant elevation gain. Another unique aspect of this discipline is that the course is not marked. Participants download the GPX track to their phone or GPS device; a paper map may also be provided on the day of the event. For this sporting competition, there is no timing, but the start and finish times will be recorded for each participant, allowing them to be ranked in one of three distinct categories at the finish: gold, silver, and bronze.
