Gérard MullerLévy wash house
Fleurieux-sur-l'Arbresle
Built around the middle of the 18th century, the building, consisting of a bakehouse and an oven, was used by the hamlets of Lévy and Morillon and was restored in 1999. The visit focuses on its restoration, architecture, operation and equipment.
In 1999, volunteers from the association "Eveux et son patrimoine" (Eveux and its Heritage), with the support of the municipality, began an exemplary restoration of the building: reconstruction of the hearth and vault, a new roof, and landscaping of the surrounding area. This project earned a Heritage Prize from the Rhône General Council in 2000, in the associations category. The bread oven is permanently visible from the side of the RD 70A, and guided tours for groups are available by reservation.
