L'Arbresle
In the old town of L'Arbresle and its suburbs, set off to discover the remains of the castle of the abbots of Savigny, the Renaissance houses and the stained glass windows of the choir of the church of St John the Baptist installed at the same time.
The monuments mentioned are: the remains of the 11th-century fortified castle (enclosure wall, English tower, Savigny gate, and keep), as well as the Auberge des Trois Maures, the Maison de Valous (listed as a historical monument, a noble agricultural house), the house known as the Maison de Jacques Cœur (listed as a historical monument, a notable's house with a shop on the ground floor), the Fief d'Odieu, and the stained-glass windows of the Church of Saint John the Baptist (listed as a historical monument). These buildings and the stained-glass windows all share the common feature of having been built or erected during the French Renaissance.
