This former yellow limestone quarry in the Beaujolais region supplied the area with building materials for five centuries. It is also a natural area of ecological interest and a major geosites within the Beaujolais UNESCO Global Geopark.
The guided tour allows you to explore the landscapes of southern Beaujolais, discover the history of the "golden stone" quarrying site, the stone-related trades, the methods and tools used by the quarrymen, as well as the geological formation and the unique flora and fauna of this site, classified as a "Sensitive Natural Area." Tours are provided by the Glay Quarries Association.
