Presentation
Through the story of the characters, children will discover that there was neither running water nor electricity, but that the farm produced everything that was needed: milk, butter, cheeses, fruits, vegetables, meat...
This fictional story is based on historical elements and brings to life characters and animals that could have lived on this farm 100 years ago. It highlights the differences between city and countryside.
Following the holidays of a young boy from Lyon in the countryside, the students will explore this farm in an exceptional state of preservation: the enclosed courtyard, the outbuildings, the bread oven, the gallery decorated with frescoes, the kitchen…
The workshops integrated into the story allow children to experience ancestral skills: with Victor, they learn to make cheeses and put themselves in the shoes of a student from that era: smock, writing with a quill pen, good marks…
