FossilaFossila
Saint-Jean-des-Vignes
Art comes to Fossilea. In matter, the history of the world. Matter is a silent witness to time, traversing centuries while carefully concealing the secrets it holds.
But some maintain a sensitive relationship with it. With their hands, they carve, sculpt, model and draw marine creatures that tell us about the distant past of Beaujolais.
We invite you to dive into these forgotten waters to discover creatures born from gesture and matter.
The works in this exhibition come from artists located within the Beaujolais Geopark: Yves Dimier (calligrapher in Oingt), Christelle Mahé (stained glass artist in Oingt), Mirabelle Rousset Charensol (metal sculptor in Gleizé with shop in Oingt), Gwen à L (wood craftswoman in St Romain de Popey), Catherine Giraud-Rauch (graphic artist in Vindry sur Turdine), Cendrine M (glass spinner in Oingt), Sophie Savin (painter in Oingt), Carole Perret (ceramicist in Chazay d'Azergues).
