Spirit, are you still there? What remains of the giants of jazz? What remains of those who left their mark on the ever-changing world of this protean music?
To this question, photographer Daniel Peyreplane and painter François Robin offer their answer: an imaginary concert-journey with a dream lineup, retracing the steps of an eternally vibrant jazz. The exhibition "Spirit & Companionship" takes us on a journey in the company of renowned musicians, all companions of Miles Davis, through the palimpsest-like paintings of these two passionate visual artists. These unsettling assemblages of photographs and drawings, created during the concerts, produce strange snapshots imbued with an intelligence that is anything but artificial, drawing its source from the very roots of emotion.
