Museum Overview

Come and discover the world of bees during a one-hour guided tour of the Caracole Apiary in Vourles. With a smoker in hand, we will open a hive together to observe the colonies at work.

Nestled in the countryside of Vourles, Le Rucher de Caracole opens its doors to you for a one-hour immersion in the heart of a real working beehive.
Equipped with your protective veil, you'll learn how to light the smoker before opening a beehive together and observing the colony at work. Who is the queen? How do the worker bees communicate? How is honey made? The beekeeper will answer all these questions throughout the visit, with both pedagogy and passion.
Beyond the technical discovery, it's also an invitation to slow down and take a different look at these insects, essential to our food supply and our ecosystems. Here, there's no staging: the bees are working, and you are their guests.
Visits are only organized in favorable weather, between March and July, to preserve the health of the colonies. This commitment speaks volumes about the ethos of the place.
