We hop on our bikes to set off along the ViaRhôna! This departure by bike on the famous cycle route symbolically opens the summer season of cycle tourism and the return of good weather.
ViaRhôna grand départ is a 40km round trip to cover between Vienne and Chavanay in a day!
Whether alone, with family or friends, embark on a journey marked by green and rugged landscapes.
Between the Île du Beurre nature reserve, a testament to the wild Rhône, the prestigious terraced vineyards including Côte-Rôtie and Condrieu, the orchards and market gardens... all lovers of fresh air, nature and history will be delighted!
DISCOVER THE PROGRAM:
- Departure from the Vienna Tourist Pavilion at 8am (for people needing to rent a mechanical or electric assisted bicycle) or meeting at 8:30am in the wooded park of Maison Blanche in Saint-Cyr-sur-le-Rhône.
- A discovery stage awaits you around 11am... Shh, we'll tell you everything on the big day!
Then, the bike ride continues to "Le Grand Banquet de Jassoux" in Chavanay – a convivial day in the heart of the vineyards during which five wineries open their doors: Yves Cuilleron, Pierre-Jean Villa, Christophe Pichon, Julien Pilon, and Les Vins de Vienne. On site, you'll find live music, a small farmers' market, and a wine bar!
Note: your ticket includes a tasting glass giving access to the 5 estates + a locavore picnic!
- Return at your leisure or meet at Maison Blanche around 16:15pm to stroll around and enjoy the Vélo Village event organized on site.
