Presentation

The Haut-Beaujolais Ecomuseum invites you on a true journey through time.
Explore the workshops, experience the atmosphere of the factory, get up close to impressive machines and discover the textile know-how that has marked local history.

A REMARKABLE AND HISTORY-RIDENED PLACE:

The Ecomuseum is housed in a former blanket and fleece factory. Opened in 1880, it long symbolized the adventure of the Beaujolais textile industry. Up to 120 employees worked on the production of numerous products, notably the famous Le Chameau brand blankets. A victim of the decline of the textile sector, it closed its doors in 1981.

Now partly renovated by the COR, the buildings retain the soul of this iconic site and offer a unique testimony to the industrial textile history of the territory.

A vibrant place, La Manufacture du Haut-Beaujolais houses an Ecomuseum and a Micro-Folie. Throughout the year, it offers a rich and varied cultural program for all audiences: self-guided and guided tours, shows, activities….

A constantly evolving place to visit and revisit!!
