7 marked trails traversing islands and backwaters, alluvial forests, grazed or mowed meadows and marshes will allow you to discover exceptional fauna and flora, characteristic of wetlands.
Slipping between the Beaujolais hills and the Dombes plateau, the
Val de Saône runs between Taponas, Belleville and Saint-Georges-de-
Reneins, north of Villefranche, a mosaic of natural environments
remarkable formations shaped by the river and by human activity.
The thirty kilometers of trails will reveal to you, through thematic panels, the natural and scenic richness - but also the fragility - of your environment, and will inform you about the traditional links that exist between man, the river (flood management, water regulation) and the associated river environments (exploitation of wet meadows for agriculture).
Departures from the ports of Belleville, Taponas and Saint Georges de Reneins.
