Domaine Vins Marquis de Montmelas

Formerly the fiefdom of the Lords of Beaujeu and owned by the same family since 1566, the Château de Montmelas is now a wine estate. Amaury and Delphine d'Harcourt will be delighted to introduce you to their Beaujolais Villages wines.

More than just wines, you will taste a history... The Château de Montmelas is a site, wines, a family!


Three tasting options are available (subject to availability):

"THE COLORS OF THE CASTLE": you will taste a Beaujolais Villages white (Chardonnay grape variety), and then two wines made from the Gamay grape variety: a Beaujolais Villages rosé and a Beaujolais Villages red from a vintage intended for aging.
(approx. 30 min. - €8 per person for groups of 4 or more, €32 for groups smaller than 4)

"FROM HARVEST TO GLASS" Wine Tasting Tour: You will discover the Grand Cuvage, built in 1842. This historic building, with its diamond-shaped timber frame, houses the winemaking vats as well as an old squirrel-cage press. Here, we will share our winemaking expertise with you. Afterwards, you will taste three of our wines, with a focus on the older vintages that are our pride and joy.

"IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE MARQUIS DE MONTMELAS" Wine Tasting Tour: You will discover the Grand Cuvage, built in 1842. This historic building, with its diamond-shaped timber frame, houses the winemaking vats as well as an old squirrel-cage press. Here, we will share our winemaking expertise with you. Afterwards, you will taste three of our wines, with a focus on the older vintages that are our pride and joy, all accompanied by a light Beaujolais snack.
