Choco-Oeno Workshop Outline
Step 1: Presentation of the Estate and the Similarities between Viticulture and Cocoa Cultivation
The workshop begins with an introduction to Domaine JP Rivière, located in the heart of the Beaujolais Pierres Dorées region. You will discover the unique characteristics of the terroir and the winemaking processes that give rise to exceptional wines. In parallel, we will explore the similarities between viticulture and cocoa farming, two demanding crafts where terroir plays a crucial role.
Step 2: A fun game about food and wine pairings
Next, it's time to experiment! A fun card game will help you better understand the rules of food and wine pairing. This enjoyable and educational experience will help you identify perfect combinations and surprise your guests at your next meal.
Step 3: Introduction to Wine Tasting
Before delving into the world of chocolate, you will be introduced to the basics of wine tasting with a glass of white wine from Domaine JP Rivière. Simple and accessible techniques will be taught to help you better appreciate the aromas and subtleties of the wine.
Step 4: Wine and Chocolate Pairing Tasting
Finally, the moment you've been waiting for! You'll savor three carefully selected wines from Domaine JP Rivière, accompanied by six rare and exquisite chocolates, chosen by Heather from ChocEmoi. Among them are Grand Cru chocolates, surprising flavors, and ultra-indulgent creations that will reveal unexpected pairings.
Throughout the session, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the art of oenology and wine tasting. You will leave with a summary sheet outlining the workshop's key takeaways.
