Accueil Vélo (Cyclists welcome) is a brand national supported by France Cycling TourismIt is awarded to socio-professionals wishing to attract and retain tourists on bicycles, due to their location along cycle tourism routes.

Granted following a pleasure visit, it guarantees travellers a chain of quality services, ranging from hospitality to the security of equipment and luggage.

As a leader in the French market for hosting cycling holidays, it now enjoys a European reputation.

In consultation with local authorities and professionals, the France Vélo Tourisme association develops and promotes the cycling tourism sector in France, as illustrated by some of its flagship initiatives:

Located near cycling routes, you already receive cyclists and wish to increase your visibility in order to expand this clientele?

The Accueil Vélo certification is a marketing tool that can add value to your communication strategy.

It is now well-known to travelers. All members are listed on https://www.francevelotourisme.com/accueil-velo

More broadly, the cycle tourism sector benefits from the “snowball” effect of increased promotion by tourism institutions.

Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Tourism is fully committed to the subject through a dedicated action plan and its website www.laregionduvelo.fr

At the Rhône level, the development of the sector by the Department and Rhône Tourisme translates into the creation and maintenance of marked trails, networking of professionals and promotion:

  • The Great Rhône Crossing by Mountain Bike, online on the France Vélo Tourisme website and the Grand Tour des Monts du Lyonnais.
  • The network of cycle touring loops.
  • The presence, every year, of the Rhône Tourisme stand at the Lyon Hiking Show opposite the main entrance.
  • Thematic website www.rhone-outdoor.com
  • The Cafés Info Cyclo, an annual event open to all stakeholders in cycle tourism in the Rhône region, provides an opportunity to stay informed about cycling news and network with other professionals.
